The East Collaborative Visual Arts Exhibition 2009

Presented by ECAM (East Collaborative Arts Magazine)

Welcome to the first collaborative visual arts exhibition presented by four secondary schools in Walsall. St Francis of Assisi CTC, Aldridge school, The Streetly School and Barr Beacon Language College have been working in collaboration over the last two years. Together they form the East Collaborative Visual Arts Network, and publish a full colour arts magazine called ECAM once a term which raises the awareness to contemporary art practice, extends students voice and offers art teachers and their students opportunity to share ideas and experiences of the visual arts.

This exhibition unites able, gifted and talented students from all four schools and celebrates the collaborative success over the last two years. The exhibition will aim to give art students, art teachers and parents from all schools the opportunity to see artwork done across the collaborative which will promote the sharing of ideas and develop creativity in the future.

Student artists from years 10 to 13 from GCSE and A-Level art courses have explored many themes using a variety of techniques, which illustrate the diverse talent within the East Collaborative.

As ECAM approaches its first anniversary since it was launched last September, the East Collaborative have been developing a website which will launch in September 09. The website will publish ECAM magazine and will offer an interactive, sharing, reviewing, researching and developing experience for art students, art teachers and parents.
