The Cobweb Garden
By Year 9
A Collaborative Art Project based upon the artwork by contemporary artist Andy Goldsworthy
Year 9 student artists raised their expectations and performed as artists in residence at the Blithfield Nature Reserve near Cannock. The cross curricular project with science gave students the opportunity to use natural materials to create a large cobweb which represented the food chain. Students collected the raw materials which were found at St Francis of Assisi and the Blithfield estate in order to resource the project. Students created a white pebble outline and filled each shape of the cobweb with different natural found objects to represent food groups. The project was completed in 2 days and was repeated at St Francis to complete the partnership.
