Mission Statement
A Creative, Collaborative, Community.
The East Collaborative Visual Arts Network is dedicated to the development of a Creative, Collaborative, Community, which supports the welfare and creative development of its students and staff.
The Network supports the ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda and aims to promote Contemporary Art Practice through collaborative projects and regular CPD for teaching staff. Projects allow students to enjoy and achieve by working outside of their usual timetables and workplaces, which allows opportunities for extended pastoral exchange and supports community cohesion within our local area.
The Network will publish a full colour magazine each term which is given to GCSE and A-Level students in each of the four schools. Teachers and students publish their own articles about contemporary art and artists, review local exhibitions and local galleries, articles based upon the art practice done by art teachers and promoting them as artists, students publish photographs of their own work allowing others to comment and give feedback through student voice and promote new techniques and materials to support our students’ education.
The Network develops projects and opportunities which will link to the Revised National Curriculum and the Revised GCSE. ECAM supports the transition from KS3 through to GCSE and A-Level, and our website is a safe, interactive and collaborative learning base which allows students opportunities to extend their knowledge of contemporary art, learn from other students and professionals from other schools, allows staff to share ideas, schemes of work and ideas, offers support towards applied learning and extends it audience to parents and the wider community.
ECAM celebrates the diversity in our local community offering equal opportunities to all students and staff. ECAM promotes the work done by all of its members and supports students of all abilities, ethnic backgrounds and faiths embedding economic wellbeing for all involved.
ECAM delivers opportunities for all students to take an active role in improving and valuing their own school environments allowing students a sense of belonging and responsibility and making a positive contribution to our community.

remain an artist once you grow up!'
